If you haven’t read this book... I highly recommend it. I am listening to the audio version...So touching! Not only did the author Tell about feeling stuck in a marriage with her husband having multiple affairs, she talks about being a mom and how different each one of her children are and how she navigated that. There is so many beautiful things to get out of this book even if you haven’t been through a divorce. #realandrawpost ⁣ Divorce - It is the most painful thing I have ever been through. It has brought me to my knees begging God to take the pain away because my heart physically aches! A pain that I have never felt. ⁣ ⁣ How do you just get over someone you spent 21 years with? We were High School sweethearts and I still love him so much!⁣ ⁣ It puts you in a place that is deep, very dark and lonely.⁣ ⁣ I made the mistake of thinking that a divorce was going to end the pain and hurt I was feeling.⁣ ⁣ Had anyone warned me about the deep emotional pain it would bring I would have stayed. I failed to consider the pain of rebuilding, being a single mom and full time nurse, my children’s pain or the guilt of just not being able to make it work. ⁣ ⁣ I spent the last year with my head down and just plowing through, numb, hiding, deflecting and ignoring the pain until it came down on me like an anvil 2 weeks ago. ⁣ ⁣ Paralyzed with anxiety and crying for days! I felt I couldn’t even be the mom I needed to be. I was okay with my kids seeing me hurt but not like this. ⁣ ⁣ I spent so long trying to fill the void just to be left emptier than before.⁣ ⁣ So here I am picking up my pieces and trying to heal my brokenness. The magic word is TIME! Time will heal my heart. ⁣ ⁣ The second magic word is GOD!
